Always have a multitool, with wire snips in the plier part. Just about any Leatherman. On a multiday canoe trip, that didnt involve fishing. Some line and a hook were hanging from a branch, over the river. It caught my buddy in the meat between thumb and index finger. If ur multi-tool cant cut a fishhook, get a new one
